Forward Alexander MacMillan (90) has rejoined the Centennials after being sent home after training camp to recover from a bout of mononucleosis. MacMillan battled injuries last season with the Cents after being acquired from the AJHL’s Drayton Valley Thunder. He posted one assist in 12 games with Merritt. As a 17-year-old with the Thunder in 2007-08, MacMillan had nine assists in 53 games. He’ll return to the lineup tonight against Vernon, wearing number 27.
The Cents have also added goaltender Cameron Dagg (92) to the roster as an affiliate player. Dagg, who was with the Cents training camp, has played eleven games with Columbia Valley of the KIJHL, posting a 1-7-0-0 record. Dagg’s goals-against-average is certainly not flattering, but his save percentage of .868 indicates how well he’s played for the Rockies this season. So far this season, Columbia Valley goaltenders have faced totals of 36, 66, 47, 57, 60, 49, 87(!), 52, 71(!), 45, 41, 57, 65(!), 38, 55, 34 and 54 shots. That’s an average of 54 shots against per game. Dagg was named first star in the Rockies lone win, 3-2 over Golden on Sunday October 4. The Kamloops product made 43 saves in the victory.
