Nanaimo-Prince George Trade:

Prince George Spruce Kings GM Mike Hawes had a busy day on Friday, making three separate deals to shore up his team.

The biggest move was acquiring F Myles Fitzgerald (93), F Gerry Fitzgerald (93), F Leo Fitzgerald (93) and D Jesse Ursic (93) from Nanaimo for F Trevor Fitzgerald (92), D Josh Bryan (93) and D Scott Milnthorp (91).

Milnthorp was Merritt Centennials property for a brief time in October of last season after being acquired from Victoria along with D Brett Kolins (92) and future considerations for F Dustin Johnson (90). The Cents flipped Milnthorp and the rights to D Austin Baecker (92) to the AJHL`s Grande Prairie Storm for G Lino Chimienti (91).

In case you’re wondering how Milnthorp ended up with the Spruce Kings, it’s because he was part of the future considerations in the trade that saw F Derek Henderson (90) go to the Storm at the deadline last season.

Trevor Fitzgerald, meanwhile, became PG property as the future considerations from the Ryan Renz deal with Vernon. In fact, Fitzgerald had been suspended by the Spruce Kings for refusing to report to them.

Regardless, here’s how today’s deal breaks down…

To Prince George:
F Myles Fitzgerald (93)
F Leo Fitzgerald (93)
F Gerry Fitzgerald (93)
D Jesse Ursic (93)
To Nanaimo:
F Trevor Fitzgerald (92)
D Josh Bryan (93)
D Scott Milnthorp (91)
