Josh Roach (Saskatoon, Sask./Humboldt, SJHL) scored the game winner in overtime for Black as they came from behind to defeat Red 2-1 in intersquad action at Canada West’s evaluation camp at the Canmore Recreation Centre.

After a scoreless first period, Red opened the scoring in the middle frame on a goal by Shane Gingera (Winnipeg, Man/Winnipeg Saints, MJHL). For Gingera it was his fourth point in two games.

Black was playing their first intersquad game of the evaluation camp and it took them until the third period to get on the board as Alex Kerfoot (West Vancouver, B.C./Coquitlam, BCHL) scored midway through the period. Connor Collett (Calgary, Alta./Okotoks, AJHL) had a pair of assists to lead Black.

Regan Soquila (Maple Ridge, B.C./Merritt, BCHL) failed to hit the scoresheet for Team Black, despite the win.

Matt Larose (Nanaimo, B.C./Trail, BCHL) and Matt Hrynkiw (Saskatoon, Sask./Humboldt, SJHL) split the goaltending duties for Black, while Sean Maguire (Powell River, B.C./Powell River, BCHL) and Jayson Argue (Swan River, Man./Swan Valley, MJHL) played in net for Red.

Red finishes the intersquad series at 1-1 while Black looks to go a perfect 2-0 Wednesday night as they face White, who is 0-1, to wrap up Team West’s evaluation camp in Canmore, Alberta.
