Chilliwack Defenceman David Thompson Commits to Penn State:

The Chilliwack Chiefs have their first college commitment since relocating from Quesnel as D David Thompson (92) has accepted a scholarship to Penn State University.

The Pennsylvania native won’t head to his home state for school until the Fall of 2013, so the Chiefs will have his services for one more season after 2011-12.

The Chilliwack Chiefs organization would like to congratulate defenseman David Thompson on his acceptance of a scholarship to Penn State University beginning with the 2013-14 season.

Thompson, in his second BCHL season leads all Chiefs defensemen in scoring with four goals and 12 assists in 31 games.

“He’s just settling in to become a nasty player to play against with all kinds of ability,” said Chiefs Head Coach HarveySmyl. “He’s very deserving of this scholarship. It’s nice to see him rewarded for all his hard work.”
