The Victoria Grizzlies freed up another 20-year-old spot, giving them room for three, by trading defenceman Stefan Gonzales to the OJHL’s Oakville Blades for 18 year goaltender Michael Stiliadis.
Stiliadis had strong numbers with the Blades last season and should join Brady Rouleau to form a formidable due in goal for the Grizzlies.
Gonzales joined Victoria in a trade last season after playing 11 games in Chilliwack and provided strong leadership on the Grizzlies blueline.
The deal hasn’t been confirmed on either team’s website, nor the BCHL website, but the Victoria Times-Colonist confirmed on Twitter (@tc_vicsports) that a deal was being worked on to bring Stiliadis to our provincial capital and Gonzales confirmed it on his Twitter account that he’d been dealt to Oakville. The trade was also mentioned on the Grizz Roar Blog.
