Trail Smoke Eaters Head Coach and GM Bill Birks has been busy this week, making three trades that brought in two players and future considerations while four players have moved on from the West Kootenays.
The latest move sees the Smokies gain some roster flexibility by making room to add two more 20-year-old players for the upcoming season. Trail traded forward Connor Collett (93) and forward Riley McDougall (93) both to the AJHL’s Calgary Mustangs for future considerations.
The deal leaves the Smoke Eaters with Austin Adduono, Marley Keca, Braden Pears and Luke Sandler as the only 20-year-olds on the roster heading into the 2013-14 season, which gives Trail the opportunity to add two without having to worry about subtracting to reach the BCHL’s limit of six.
