The BCHL is hoping to alleviate a lot of those concerns this weekend at the Bauer BCHL Showcase at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack.
At the college hockey information session, happening Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Prospera Centre’s media room, parents, coaches and any other interested parties are invited to gather and hear from Canadian and American college hockey coaches and BCHL education advisors.
“We’re highly aware of the uncertainty players and their families face when they make these life-changing decisions,” said BCHL commissioner John Grisdale. “Hopefully, parents will take advantage of this session and will be better prepared as they move towards making a college choice.”
Tyler Kuntz, assistant coach of the UBC Thunderbirds, Chris Schultz, head coach of the State University of New York at Oswego and Matt Nicholson, assistant coach at Robert Morris University will be speaking to recruiting, academics, eligibility and how they approach prospective players.
In addition, BCHL education advisors Tom McEvay and Ross Beebe will be speaking at the event. Both have a tremendous record of success in helping BCHL players secure futures in college hockey.
