Defenseman Stewart Coyle Traded by Salmon Arm and Penticton, Ends Up with Kindersley Klippers:

Defenseman Stewart Coyle was traded twice in a period of 24 hours after being moved by the Salmon Arm SilverBacks to the Penticton Vees for future considerations and then, along with future considerations, by Vees Head Coach and GM Fred Harbinson to the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for futures.

Taylor Rocca over at the SJ Journal reports that Klippers GM and Head Coach Rockie Zinger Salmon Arm originally had a deal with Kindersley, but Coyle didn’t clear BCHL waivers after the Vees put a claim in and matched the deal.

Then Coyle decided to not report to Penticton after being set on going to the Klippers so Zinger worked out a deal with the Vees.

So essentially, Salmon Arm and Penticton wind up with future considerations while Kindersley gets the player it wanted in the first place and future considerations.

To Kindersley Klippers:
D Stewart Coyle (95) Future Considerations

To Penticton Vees:
Future Considerations

To Salmon Arm SilverBacks:
Future Considerations

Here’s the release from the ‘Backs portion of the trade:

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks announced on Thursday that 18 year old Defenceman Stewart Coyle has been traded to the Penticton Vees, in exchange for Future Considerations.

Coyle, a native of Sicamous, joined the ‘Backs early in the season after stints with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants and Spokane Chiefs, last season.

Stewart amassed 11 Penalty Minutes and 0 points in his 9 games with the SilverBacks on the blue-line.

The ‘Backs would like to thank Stewart for his contributions to the team, and its dressing room, while wishing him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Your SilverBacks host those same Penticton Vees this Saturday, at the Shaw Centre, before taking on the Merritt Centennials on Sunday Afternoon, also at the Shaw Centre.
