Defenseman Stewart Coyle was traded twice in a period of 24 hours after being moved by the Salmon Arm SilverBacks to the Penticton Vees for future considerations and then, along with future considerations, by Vees Head Coach and GM Fred Harbinson to the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for futures.
Taylor Rocca over at the SJ Journal reports that Klippers GM and Head Coach Rockie Zinger Salmon Arm originally had a deal with Kindersley, but Coyle didn’t clear BCHL waivers after the Vees put a claim in and matched the deal.
Then Coyle decided to not report to Penticton after being set on going to the Klippers so Zinger worked out a deal with the Vees.
So essentially, Salmon Arm and Penticton wind up with future considerations while Kindersley gets the player it wanted in the first place and future considerations.
