Victoria Trades Junior A Rights to Defenseman Nick Charif to Spruce Grove:

Last week, the Victoria Grizzlies traded a player who was on their roster, but wasn’t with the team.

Victoria head coach and GM Bill Bestwick moved the junior A rights to defenseman Nick Charif (95) to the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Charif was listed by the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels and left the Grizzlies after realizing he wasn’t eligible for a full five year scholarship at an NCAA school due to the fact that he took some courses he took last winter at MacEwan University in Edmonton.

He signed with the Rebels and joined them full-time two weeks ago, and Victoria decided to get something for his junior A rights.
