Spruce Kings Forward Commits to UAA, Vees Pick Up Rights to WHL Veteran:

Prince George Spruce Kings F Jeremiah Luedtke (94) has secured a place to play once his junior hockey career ends as the Lynnwood, Washington product committed to the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Luedtke, who tried out for the USHL’s Bloomington Thunder before returning to Prince George this past summer, is eighth in BCHL scoring this season with 22 points (6-16-22) in 17 games.

He’s the fifth player on the Spruce Kings roster with a college commitment. Check out PG’s release on Luedtke’s commitment here.
With the official confirmation of yesterday’s trade between by Penticton and Vernon, there’s a piece that the Vipers didn’t announce.

The BCHL posted the details of the trade, which sees the Vees pick up the Canadian Junior Hockey League rights to F Dakota Conroy (94) and future considerations for F Liam Finlay (97). Conroy is a veteran of 214 Western Hockey League games, posting 63 goals and 74 assists with Brandon, Victoria and Prince Albert.

It remains to be seen if Conroy ends up joining Penticton, but he is under suspension right now by the Raiders after leaving the team a couple of weeks ago to return home to Edmonton.

Prince Albert’s release on Conroy leaving the team is here. The Vees do currently have just 21 players on their roster, so they could add Conroy without making another move.

F Travis Ouellette (Penticton, 2008-09) has joined his second ECHL team this season. Ouellette was released by the Allen Americans last week and has landed with the Indy Fuel after signing as a free agent.

F Curtis McKenzie (Penticton, 2007-09) was sent down to the Texas Stars of the AHL by the Dallas Stars today. McKenzie appeared in two games with Dallas since being called up two weeks ago. The Stars release on McKenzie’s reassignment is here.

D Brandon Manning (Prince George, 2007-08) has been recalled by the Philadelphia Flyers. The Prince George product has a goal and four assists in six games with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Their release on Manning’s call-up is here.
